The ground rules for using our website and working with our team — written to be read, not skimmed past.
These terms set out what you can expect from Home With Makeover and what we ask of you, both on this website and on site. Your signed project contract always sets out the specifics of your renovation.
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Home With Makeover website and the services we provide. By browsing this site, requesting a quote or engaging us for work, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the site or our services.
We provide home renovation and remodeling services, including interior decor, exterior and garden renovation, home security, fire safety, renovation lending and warranty support, roofing, solar, window replacement, flooring and bathroom remodeling. Descriptions on this website are provided for general information. The exact scope of your project is defined by the written quotation and contract we agree with you.
Any change to the agreed scope, materials or finishes should be requested in writing. We will confirm the effect on cost, materials and schedule before carrying out the change. Work that falls outside the agreed scope may affect the project timeline, and we will always tell you before that happens.
We agree a start date and an indicative schedule with you. Timelines may be affected by weather, permit approvals, supplier lead times, structural discoveries or changes you request. You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the property, along with water and power, during working hours. Please secure pets and remove valuables and fragile items from active work areas.
Payment terms are set out in your quotation and contract. These normally include a deposit to reserve materials and labour, progress payments as stages are completed, and a final payment on practical completion. Invoices are payable within the period stated on them. Where a project is delayed by circumstances beyond our control, completed work remains payable.
Where a permit or inspection is required, we will advise you and coordinate the application and inspections as part of the project. All work is carried out to applicable building codes and manufacturer requirements. Where specialist certification is required, we engage appropriately licensed trades.
We warrant our workmanship for the period stated in your contract, and we pass on manufacturer warranties for materials, fixtures and equipment. The warranty covers defects arising from our workmanship under normal use and maintenance. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, neglect, severe weather events, alterations carried out by others, or normal wear and settling of a home. To make a claim, contact us with your project details and photographs, and we will arrange an inspection.
Drawings, layouts, mood boards, photographs and specifications we create remain our intellectual property until the project is paid for in full. We may photograph completed work for our portfolio and website. If you would prefer your property not to appear, tell us at any time and we will respect that.
To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising from a project is limited to the value of the work concerned. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of rent, profit or opportunity. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses or costs arising from information you provided that was inaccurate or incomplete, from site conditions you did not disclose, or from work carried out at your instruction that conflicts with manufacturer guidance or applicable codes.
Either party may end a contract in line with its terms. If a project is cancelled after it has started, you remain responsible for work completed, materials ordered and any non-refundable costs reasonably incurred. We may suspend work if the site is unsafe, if access is denied, or if agreed payments are overdue.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, United States. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of that jurisdiction, after both parties have made a genuine effort to resolve the matter directly.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page applies to your use of the website, while the terms in your signed contract apply to your project.
